Obama even looks cool wearing 3D glasses…via Flickr.
Slightly off topic…I love this administration. Living in the US right now feels so right – even in the midst of a horrible recession. The White House has its own Flickr Photostream. So cool to get little glimpses into Obama’s day.
Met with the guys from Flipgloss this morning. Interesting site with some cool design content. Well worth a look. I like this glassware by Karen Feldman.
Great fake subway maps. My fave is the Hamptons…
It’s a day of all things timber. I saw a doco on Ghost International Architectural Laboratory’s worskhop in Nova Scotia. They built this wonderful timber structure. It was really inspiring.
And I know these block-type stools have been around for a long time but these are very fine samples…from OHIO.
I’m not really a woodsy kind of girl but OHIO may change my mind. Great furniture designer. This coffee table works because the legs are so fine – the perfect contrast to the roughness of the timber top.
Found this lovely room on Purplearea. I think our house needs some softening. There’s so much graphic black and white. Big fat drapey silk curtains would be perfect. Although listening to NPR this morning about the dire state of the economy I don’t think I’ll be buying silk drapes anytime soon.
MILAN: Sometimes it is all about the bag. Last year Tom Dixon did a fabulous gold tote that was THE bag to come home with. I have two of them and still use them. They go down a treat at Whole Foods! This year Tom Dixon turned the gold bronze and I think he wins the ‘best bag in show’ again. Via IndesignLive.
