Lunch

This week I actually got out. This is a shot of the lunch they served at the press preview for LACMA’s California Design exhibition which is part of Pacific Standard Time. So much good stuff happening in LA right now. So the lunch – chicken, bacon and guacamole – but hey, it was in a wrap. And it was also kind of small. Very French really.

Eames and JF Chen

I had such a great day earlier this week touring JF Chen‘s showroom as they were setting up for the “Collecting Eames” exhibition with Daniel Ostroff (his collection of over 150 pieces was bought by Chen who then added to it – substantially). I met Joel Chen and his daughter Bianca and also the designer of the exhibition, artist Clare Graham. Moments like these I do truly love living in Los Angeles. The show is a must-see.  There’s over 450 pieces of Eames design. It reminded me just how extraordinary Ray and Charles were. And all those pieces? Every single one if for sale. Here are just a few pics from my morning. Make sure you get there yourself if you’re in LA. Details: “Collecting Eames: The JF Chen Collection” is part of Pacific Standard Time. JF Chen, 941 North Highland Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90038 October 3–January 14. Show hours are Monday through Friday 10am to 4pm, Saturday 11 to 4pm, and closed on Sunday

Lunch

Clearly a theme with these lunches. This was tomato, basil from the garden and olive oil on multi-grain bread. I need to branch out…had delicious roasted carrot soup at book group last night (thank you Rachael – waiting on that recipe). It’s the first day of Autumn so soup is starting to feel like a good idea.
